Amateur 9-Ball Event
The Amateur 9-Ball Event would see a mediocre field of 22 players still paying out 8 spots. Top (AA) amateur player Randy Jordon looked as if he was going to sweep through the field with wins over (B) Machine 8-2, (B) Lisa Davids 8-3, (A) Jeff Hooks 8-3 before getting taken down by (A) Jeff Crawford 7-6. (A) Jeff Crawford would move into the hot seat match against (B) Betty Sessions who made her way through the field with wins over (A) Roy Tatum 5-3, (AA) Horace Godwin 6-5 and (B) Pat Cooper 5-4. The hot seat match would go double hill with (A) Jeff Crawford escaping 6-4. Meanwhile on the one loss side (A) Jeff Hooks was making his was back with wins over (B) James Alvarez, (B) Red Brown before losing to (B) Felipe Flores 5-1 to finish in 4th Place. (B) Felipe Flores who had taken a first round loss to (A) Jeff Hooks made his way back through the one loss side with wins over (A) Jeff Jordon 5-3, (B) Alan Wong 5-4, (AA) Horace Godwin 5-2, (AA) Randy Jordon 5-2, (A) Jeff Hooks 5-1. (B) Felipe Flores would matchup with
(B) Betty Sessions for the finals of the one loss side.
A good tight match and (B) Betty Sessions would prevail 5-3 and have a revenge opportunity against (A) Jeff Crawford in the finals. The finals was one race to 8 and (A) Jeff Crawford would come out playing solid and take control of the match to win the finals 8-1 and become the “Peach State Open” Amateur Champion.

2nd Place: Betty Sessions - $325
3rd Place: Felipe Flores - $200
4th Place: Jeff Hooks - $125
5th/6th Place: Pat Cooper, Randy Jordan - $75
7th/8th Place: Red Brown, Horace Godwin - $50

Ladies 9-Ball Event
The Ladies 9-Ball Event took place on Saturday June 26th. Betty Session looked to be one of the favorites as the 2009 Ladies US Amateur Champion and she proved just that by skating through the winners side with wins over Kristin Malone 5-2, Lisa Davids 5-2 where she would meet up with Katie Cowan who had made her way through the winners side with wins over Laura Rossignol 5-3, Leslie Goforth 5-1, Amanda Palmer 5-0. But, Betty Sessions would stop Katie Cowan in the hot seat match with a 5-1 win. On the one loss side Aileen Nguyen would knock out Leslie Goforth and finish in 5th/6th with a 5-0 loss to Lisa Davids also, Krisin Malone beat Laura Rossignol 5-2 and Amanda Palmer to face Lisa Davids. Davids would take the match leaving Kristin Malone in 4th place and face Katie Cowan for the finals of the one loss side. Katie however wanted to get back in the finals at another shot at Sessions by winning 5-0 to leave Lisa Davids in 3rd place. The finals was one race to 8 and Betty Sessions kept her momentum going by commanding the finals match 8-2 and becoming the 1st annual “Peach State Open” Ladies Champion.

Final Results: 1st Place: Betty Sessions - $300
2nd Place: Katie Cowan - $170
3rd Place: Lisa Davids - $80
4th Place: Kristin Malone - $50
5th/6th Place: Aileen Nguyen, Amanda Palmer – Free T-Shirt



Open 9-Ball Event
The Open 9-Ball Event would see a small field of 12 players and pay out 6 spots. First place would still see a $500 payout. The local favorites were Paul Song and Cliff Joyner. Cliff would make his way to the finals of the winner bracket with wins over Jeff Crawford 7-3 and Pat Campbell 7-2. Paul Song would also make his way to the winners bracket with wins over Patt Cooper 7-0, Andrew Stewart 7-2 and Kasey Joiner 7-6 to play Cliff Joyner for King Of The Hill. The match would be a great battle between the two players with very few misses and Paul Song would come out on top as the winner of the winners bracket 7-6. On the one loss side Jeff Crawford would prevail after taken a second round loss to Cliff Joyner 7-3 and come back with wins over Matt Hardeman 7-1, Tommy Najar 7-6, Pat Campbell 7-1 and Horace Godwin 7-5. He would then face Cliff Joyner for the finals of the one loss side. Jeff Crawford fell just short as Cliff Joyner would slide by 7-6 leaving Jeff Crawford in 3rd Place. This set up a revenge match for Cliff Joyner against Paul Song in the finals. The finals was one race to 9. Paul Song would show strong strong consistency with few errors to pull the finals out 9-4 and Paul Song would prevail as the “Peach State Open” Champion.

1st Place: Paul Song - $500
2nd Place: Cliff Joyner - $300
3rd Place: Jeff Crawford - $150
4th Place: Horace Godwin - $80
5th/6th Place: Pat Campbell, Kasey Joiner - $50
